Canvas photos

My office recently moved to a new location, so I have been on the lookout for some decorations for my new office (actually, it’s a cube).  I knew I wanted to find a cute way to display pictures of Meg and the dogs, but didn’t want to use boring photo frames.
Meg and I went to Michael’s for some supplies to create canvas prints.  I had originally planned on doing 5x7 prints, but found some 6x6 canvases and fell in love with them.  With a little scrapbook paper, mod podge and pictures, I was able to create some great canvas prints.

I love how the canvases turned out and think I will make some for the house.  Meme already asked me to create one for her with pictures of Megan and Luke.

Gone to the Dogs!

Labor Day weekend was full of family, friends and fun…but I can’t forget our four-legged companions.

Fortunately, the only two dogs that don’t get along are Parker and Gunner.  They just avoid each other, so we never have any problems.

My Birthday at the Ranch

Jarrad, Megan and I left out of Friday for Easter weekend at the ranch.  Friday happened to be my birthday and Good Friday, so Meg was out of school and I took the day off.  Jarrad even took the day off so we could head out early.  I think he was excited about taking Joey out for the first time.

The trip took a little longer than normal because we were pulling the trailer, but we managed to make it out to the ranch in one piece.  We unloaded and started to get the trailer leveled out.  In no time, it was set up and we were ready for the weekend.

Jarrad unloaded the mule while Meg and I played inside.   As soon as the Mule was unloaded, Meg grabbed the ladder so she could climb up into the attic.  About 20 minutes after we got situated, Meme & Poppy arrived.  Meg was so excited to give them the tour.

She showed them the “upstairs” (bedroom), her “attic”, the bathroom, and the garage.  Meme and Poppy actually slept in the garage (there are two double bunk beds back there).

After the tour, we went for a drive around the ranch.  We loaded up the dogs and headed down the road.  Gunner bailed ship and refused to come thru the gate.  I had to walk back and convince him that the gate wasn’t going to hurt him.

A trip to the ranch wouldn’t be complete without Dixie taking a dip in a few tanks.  Gunner isn’t sure about the water yet, but I have a feeling he’ll learn to love it.

After our ride and after Gunner’s bath, we all cleaned up and headed to Mary’s for my birthday dinner.  Thankfully, no one sang to me!

Spring Break part 5

Thursday afternoon, Megan and I met Nawnaw in Grapevine to enjoy the beautiful weather.  We ate outside and just walked from shop to shop.  IMG_8939

That night was so beautiful that we decided to open up a bottle of wine and head to the backyard.  Some of my favorite memories are sitting on the back porch watching Megan play and swing on her swing set while the dogs run around.

Spring Break part 3

Being in SA is always so much fun.  I miss it so much sometimes, and would love to move back, but I know that our lives are here and wouldn’t change that for the world.

We spent Sunday with Taylor, Ruth, Luke and friends and family for Luke’s dedication.  The day turned out to be beautiful.  IMG_8373IMG_8393IMG_8428

Tuesday, we got to hang out with Kyle and Sheryl.  They made a special trip to mom and dad’s just to visit us.  We went to lunch, then went looking at model homes.  K&S are in the process of remodeling, so they were looking for ideas :)      IMG_1975

Tuesday evening, Taylor, Ruth & Luke came over for dinner.  Unfortunately, K&S had to leave before dinner, so they weren’t there.

I can’t believe how fast Luke is growing!  He’s crawling all over and starting to walk.  Taylor and Ruth are definitely going to have their hands full with this little monster :)  IMG_8846  IMG_8840IMG_1981

A trip to SA wouldn’t be complete without a few pictures of the dogs.
