For the last weekend of Spring Break, I had planned to take Megan to Six Flags. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn and we weren’t able to go. Instead, we were able to hang out with daddy. We went out to Weatherford, then to Cabelas, then out to dinner and back home. By the time we got home, it was snowing. Hopefully all the snow is behind us.

Stop already!
When we woke up this morning, this was what we saw!
MORE SNOW!
I live in Texas.
It’s snowed six times this winter!
It usually only sleets and ices!
I’m so over the winter!
I can’t wait for spring!

What is this?
Dixie & Gunner were unsure about the snow. Dixie just went outside, took care of business and made a bee line back to the door. Gunner on the other hand took a while to get off the porch, once he finally did, he wasn’t sure what was going on. Gunner is so skinny that i didn’t want him outside too long – I don’t need him burning any extra calories.
After Gunner figured that the snow wasn’t going to hurt him, he was running thru it and having a blast.

Still snowing!
It snowed all day on Thursday. Thankfully there wasn’t any ice along with it. My mom was driving in from San Antonio, so was on the road with all the snow. My dad was supposed to go to St. Louis, but it was cancelled because of the snow. Lucky for me, I’m an executive assistant so I knew exactly who to call to get him from Love Field to my house in Mansfield. He arrived on Thursday night late, with out his bags (that’s a whole other story).
On Friday morning when we woke up, it was still snowing. Meg had been up most of the night feeling like poo, so I made the decision to try to get her into the doctor’s office. That morning, I called her pediatrician's office to schedule an appointment, only to get a message that they were closed for the morning and would hopefully open up that afternoon.
I had a feeling that Meg had strep. She’s had it so many times in the past year that I figured my diagnosis was as good as any. But I still decided to take her up to Urgent Care. I was shocked that Meg didn’t have strep, just pharyngitis and an ear infection.
We filled her prescription, killed a little time by having a quick lunch, picked up her prescription, then headed home. As soon as we got home, she asked me to start her a movie, make her a nest and get her some orange juice. I started her movie and within 10 minutes, she was sleeping.
Thankfully, after we got a few doses of antibiotics in her, she was back to her normal self.
Poppy decided to measure the snow fall that we had in our backyard. We got 8.5 inches. It was so beautiful!
I love how quiet the snow made everything. And the nights were so beautiful.
I was sad when it all started melting away, but am so glad that we had a few days with a record breaking snow :)

SNOW!
We had the most beautiful snow storm last week. When we went to sleep Wednesday night, there wasn’t any snow in the air or on the radar, however, it was in the forecast :)
I was super excited about the possibilities of snow. I just kept thinking that Meg was going to have her first snow day. When we woke up the next morning, the snow was coming down steadily and the snow was starting to accumulate on the ground.
I was shocked when there weren’t any school cancellations. It seems that since it was just snowing and the roads weren’t bad that MISD decided to chance it.
Because of the snow, Jarrad didn’t have to work, so we took Meg to school together. I don’t think Jarrad wanted me driving in the snow. It worked out in my favor because I was able to take pictures while we were driving around.
I love how the house looked. I asked Jarrad to drive into the neighborhood the long way so I could get a picture of the house with the snow. It’s so beautiful!
As Jarrad and I were on our way to pick Megan up from school (early), we stopped at a stop light and the snow slid right down Jarrad’s windshield. It wasn’t as bad on his side, but i couldn’t see anything out of my side of the car.
After we picked Megan up from school, her and I got into some warm jackets, hats, boots and gloves, then headed out into the front yard for some snow ball fighting and building a snow man.
Unfortunately, Meg wasn’t feeling very good. She had a sore throat, so she didn’t want to stay out too long. Honestly, I probably shouldn’t have let her play in it knowing that she was sick (she had been running a fever the night before), but it was her first snow day and I wanted to have these memories with her.
Here is our pathetic attempt at a snowman. This was my first time making a snowman – it’s pretty obvious :) All that matters is that this was something that Meg and I did together. We had a great time.
After we built our snowman, Jarrad came out with us and we had a mini snowball fight. Meg’s got pretty good aim and an even better arm when it comes to hitting her daddy with the cold snow. After a few minutes of snowball fighting, Meg decided that she had had enough and wanted to head inside to lay down for a nap (as I mentioned, she was sick – more to come on that).
So, Meg headed in and I snapped a few more pictures of the snow.
It was so beautiful. The best part of our snow weekend, besides the fact that we ended up having a snow day on Friday (although Meg’s v-day party was scheduled for that day) and my parents came into town.

Our first snow
We had our first snow of the winter last week. It was short lived and didn't stick to the ground, but did manage to stick to the roof. I was able to get a few pictures before the snow melted.
