Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve we spent the evening with Nina in Dallas. Meg, Jarrad and I got to Nina’s house around 5:30. Meg was very happy to see Nina, Auntie Lee Lee, Uncle Eddy and Jackson. Unc, Aunt Michelle and Parker got to the house a little later in the evening.
Meg and I had baked Christmas cookies the night before, so they were ready for decorating. We all decorated a few cookies and ate a few too. Right as we were finishing up cookie decorating, Nina’s power went out. Thankfully she has a gas stove, so we were still able to cook what we needed. The power was probably off for over an hour. As we were sitting at the table, enjoying the meal, the power came back on. Nina is a candle burner, so we had plenty of light.
After dinner, we exchanged Christmas presents. Meg got lots of great stuff this year, including a cook book, apron, Juicy crayons and a box full of money. It was a great Christmas Eve.

The most wonderful time of the year
The Sunday after we got home from camping, I got the Christmas decorations down from the attic and started putting Christmas up. I started off small with Megan’s tree in her room. We both took her tree and ornaments out and set it up. She was so happy with the finished product.
After we got Megan’s tree put up, we headed into the man cave to put up the trees in there. These two trees were a new addition to our decorations from last year and I still love them! They are perfect for Jarrad’s man cave.
Unfortunately, after getting Meg’s room and Jarrad’s man cave set up, I didn’t have the energy to put up my tree in the living room. It had to wait until a few days later. I will post pictures of the living room tree soon.

4th of July Weekend
Meg and I went to San Antonio to visit mom and dad for the 4th of July. The weekend was full of swimming, sunning and visiting. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a lot of time with Meme because she was sick in bed with the flu.
Meg and I drove down on Friday morning. When we got home, it was raining and rained most of the rest of the day. Saturday, the weather was much better. Dad, Meg and I spent most of the day out by the pool. It was a great day of relaxation. Meg spent the whole time in the pool – this little girl is turning into a fish!
Sunday, Meme came out to visit with us for a little while. She had been in bed all weekend and thought it would do her some good to get outside for a bit. Kyle and Sheryl also came down to spend the Fourth with us. We had a good time visiting with everyone. We cooked some burgers for lunch. The timing on burgers was perfect because it was the only time during the day that it rained.
Kyle and Sheryl had to go home that afternoon. Meme decided she had been cooped up too long, so we went into town to eat at El Jarro. On our way home, we stopped at a Fireworks stand and let Meg buy some sparklers. Even though is wasn’t dark when we got home, Meg couldn’t wait to light her sparklers.
Monday, I got up early and headed back home. I left Megan in San Antonio with Meme and Poppy for the week while I was gone. My plan is to go back to SA on Wednesday, so I won’t be gone for a long time. Friday, we leave for Family vacation :)

Spring Break part 4
Megan and I drove home from San Antonio on Wednesday. We both missed Daddy and were ready to see him. It was St. Patrick’s Day, so we decided to go out for some green beer.
Megan got to pinch Jarrad a few times since he wasn’t wearing any green ;) You can tell from the pictures below how excited Megan was to see Jarrad.

Making Valentines & school V-day party
Megan picked out Puppy & Kitten Valentine’s Day cards for her classmates this year. She was so excited about them because they had tattoos that came with them.
She told me that all of her classmates would love them because they were for boys & girls. Meg makes me so happy when she thinks about the “group” as a whole. Meg has a heart of gold and always thinks about other people.
She has grown up so much this year. Once a child who could be selfish and bratty, she is now a very selfless child.
Meg and I sat down one afternoon after school so she could start working on her Valentine’s Day cards. As she was signing all of them, she decided to also add a heart. So sweet
Because of the snow day, Meg’s school party was postponed to Tuesday after Valentine’s Day. Megan was so worried that there wasn’t going to be a party. After I told her it would just be rescheduled, she seemed ok with it. The postponement of the party actually worked to our advantage since Meg was sick on Friday. She would have had to miss the party if it weren’t for the snow day. Funny how things work out sometimes.
The school party was a huge success. All the children had a great time giving out their Valentine’s day cards to all of their classmates. I’m so thankful that I’m the room mom. I love to watch Meg interact with her classmates. She’s as goofy as ever, but doing really well in school.
I decided to take her home with me after the party. The only thing she would miss was free choice time, so I didn’t see the harm. Plus, she couldn’t WAIT to get home to look thru all of her Valentine’s that she received from her classmates.
