Second 2007 Christmas...

On Monday, December 17, Jarrad and I were watching TV around 9:45...below is our conversation...

Jarrad: When are we going to celebrate our Christmas?
Allison: What do you mean?
Jarrad: When are we going to open presents with us and Megan?
Allison: Oh, I was going to take all of our gifts to San Antonio and do it there?
Jarrad: We're not hauling all of our gifts to SA just to haul them back...
Allison: Well, tonight is the only night we can do it...I think I hear Meg in her room.
Jarrad: Go wake her up.

So, at 10:00pm on Monday night, we opened our family presents. It was perfect. Megan got roller skates - which was what she really wanted. She also got some clothes and a few other small gifts.

Watching Meg open up gifts was so adorable. In this picture, she said (with so much enthusiasm), "a beautiful box!" She was genuinely excited about getting a box for Christmas. I had to explain to her that the box wasn't her present. I love this child more than I could ever say!

First 2007 Christmas...

December 16th

Our first Christmas celebration this year was with Luke, Patty, Leigh Ann, Ed, Nick, Michelle, Stacy & Bryan. We all went over to Luke and Patty's house on Saturday night for a sleep over then opened presents the next day. While we were having Christmas breakfast, the door bell rang. We were all pleasantly surprised to see Santa Claus standing at the door :)

Meg was Santa's big helper, passing out every one's presents for him. It was such a great day. One I know we'll all remember.

Dear Santa

On Friday, Jarrad and I took Megan to Prairie Lights in Grand Prairie. It's a drive through light display in Grand Prairie. There are lighted candy canes, toy soldiers, elves, flowers, castles, and of course, Santa & reindeer. About half way through the display, there is a huge tent set up. Inside the tent, there is a food court, a "gift shop", a light show, and pictures with Santa. Poor Santa, Meg just talked his ear off. But, I think she got her point across that she wants roller skates for Christmas. Hopefully Santa will hear her wishes!
I took pictures, but haven't downloaded them yet. Maybe I'll get around to it next week.

Can I get you anything?

Tonight, while Jarrad and I were watching the Big 12 Championship game, Dixie climbed up into Meg's recliner. She was trying to sleep while sitting up in the chair, so I reclined it for her. She hasn't moved a muscle. Guess she's comfy.
