Best seat in the house

My parents came up for a short visit while I was in between jobs. We were so glad they were able to make it. Meg loves spending time with her meme and poppy. They live in San Antonio, so we all have to make an extra effort to make sure she spends time with them. I think we're very fortunate because we get to see them at least every weeks (if not more often).

New job...new school

Well, since I'll be starting a new job next Monday and I'm going to have more flexibility, Jarrad and I decided that we should move Megan to a day care in Mansfield.

Today, I took Megan to La Petite Academy to see the school for herself. She liked it. I had already gone over there on Tuesday. I loved the school. It's going to be a great move for Megan. I'm sure it will take some time adjusting to a new school, a new teacher and new people, but I know she'll do great. I'm so proud of her everyday!

After we went to her new school, we went to Michael's to the "Tiny Tot" craft class. She got to make a beautiful necklace. She had a lot of fun.

This is Meg's new thing. She does it all the time and it's starting to drive me CRAZY!!!

Daddy's Little Girl

Still sick!

Meg is still sick. This virus seems to be lingering. If she's not all better by Thursday, I'm going to have to take her back to the doctor. She's still running a low grade fever and now has a horrible cough. Hopefully since I'm off this week, she'll be able to rest up and get well.

Happy Valentine's Day

This year for Valentine's day, Meg got to go to the doctor. And, she missed her party at day care! She had been sick all week - it started Monday night. Of course, the timing couldn't have been worse with this being my last week at Bain. So, I spent a few half days at home with her. She would run fevers at night, then mid-morning, she would get better. I decided on Thursday that I should taker her to the doctor to make sure she didn't have the flu. Afterall, I had the flu two weeks ago, so her having it was a real possibility. Good news was, that she didn't have the flu, just a virus that's going around. We just kept her on fever reducing medicine and she seems to be better.

Below is a picture of Meg taken on Valentine's night. You can tell in her little face that she doesn't feel good. I felt horrible for her! And, as soon as I snapped the first picture, the tears started. She was just fussy, fussy, fussy. I hope this virus runs its course quickly!

Happy Birthday Colton!

Colton turned 4 last week. Yesterday, we went to his party at Seth & Suz's house. The kids had so much fun. Suzanne ordered the adorable masks (see below) for all the kids. I was surprised that all the kids were willing to wear them. They all looked so cute running around with their masks on.
Megan ate her first piece of b-day cake too. For those of you who know Meg's b-day cake eating habits, you understand why I'm mentioning it. For as long as I can remember, Meg has always demanded a piece of b-day cake at parties, then never eats it. She would take one taste and then just play with it. Well, yesterday, she ate a whole piece. Of course, on the way home she said to me "I don't want to eat cake again!" O'well, guess she'll only eat cake when she wants it.

Leaving Bain!

I still can't believe it...after 6 years, I'm leaving my current job at Bain to go work at Accenture. It's bittersweet, but I know I've made the right decision. It all happened so fast, that I have to say it was definitely meant to be!

OUCH!!!

Megan spent the night with Luke and Patty on Monday night and accidentially dropped a full Coke can on her big toe! Poor baby!

Luke called us because Meg wouldn't stop crying. He said that Meg wanted to talk to her mommy. She was crying so hard that I couldn't even understand her. Eventually, we got off the phone, although she was still screaming. Luke called me back about 30 minutes later and said that Megan had finally calmed down.

I had no idea that her toe was going to look this bad. Actually, this looks good...the above picture was taken five days after the accident.

Sick, sick, sick!!!

I've been sick all week! It started out Monday afternoon. I just started feeling HORRIBLE! By the time I got home from work, I was convinced that my ear surgery had gone terribly wrong and whatever was wrong with me was a direct result of it! Monday night, I tossed and turned and coughed and ached...I just didn't feel like myself. Again, just blamed my ear surgery.

Tuesday, I was able to get to the doctor late afternoon. He checked my ear and said everything looked fine. I was running a fever, but since I was on antibiotics, he didn't seem overly concerned. Tuesday night was horrible for me! I was sicker than I had ever been. My fever never broke and only kept getting higher and higher (it got up to over 102 at one point).

I let my fever run it's course. I was home Wednesday and Thursday. I think it's safe to say that I was hit with the flu. It wasn't fun and it isn't anything I want to do ever again! But, I survived and am looking forward to resting up a little more over the weekend!
