..."YES, you can definitely help me with the laundry!!!"
I was folding laundry a few nights ago, when Meg innocently asked "Mommy, can I help you with the laundry?" I was so excited that someone was offering to help me do the laundry that I almost started jumping up and down! I put her in charge of separating socks and undies. She did such a great job and wants that to be one of her chores from now on.
Now, her chore list includes changing the paper towels, pushing the laundry thru the house, folding socks and changing the trash sacks. She also helps with unloading the dishes from time to time and she still loves to wipe things off.

New Kitchen
Right before Christmas, we cleaned out the play room (we purge toys before birthday and Christmas every year). One of the things Meg wanted to get rid of was her Dora Dora Kitchen. She said it was too little for her and that she wanted one with a microwave. I explained to her that there wasn't anything wrong with the Dora kitchen and that I couldn't promise that she would get a new one. It didn't seem to sink in - she still wanted to part with the Dora Kitchen.
Christmas came and went and she never really mentioned a replacement kitchen (thankfully). Then, on Sunday night, our neighbor (one of Meg's friends) put this out on their driveway. Of course, the desire to have a kitchen came crawling back. She just had to have it. After talking to her friend, she found out that they were going to get rid of it. Her friend then told her that she could have it.
We walked over there today and brought it to the house. I set her up in the driveway with a bucket of soapy water and told her that before we could bring it in, we had to clean it. She was so excited about cleaning. Of course, we all know how much she loves to clean, so that wasn't a huge request.

Sometimes I wonder
...if she's really my daughter!
Tonight, Meg spilled some Doritos in the kitchen and when Jarrad grabbed the vacuum, she just had to get in on the action.
She definitely didn't get her OCD about cleaning from me. Must be a Ramsey trait.

Isn't she sweet?!?
Last night, when we got home from a friend's house, I had to do a little work in my office. Imagine my sweet surprise when I walked into the kitchen only to find Meg doing the dishes! She loves to clean...it's getting her to pick up after herself that is proving to be a huge challenge!

Such a neat freak!
Meg LOVES to clean! I don't know where she gets it from, Jarrad and I are the farthest thing from neat freak. But, for a reason not known to me, my little Princess loves to clean. Last night, I was cleaning off the fridge, dishwasher, microwave and oven...they're stainless, so I actually have to clean them more often than I ever thought about cleaning those appliances. So, while I was cleaning, Meg grabbed a rag and offered to help. Of course, I had to get out my camera to capture the moment. I never want to forget that at one point, Meg was willing to help with chores. I'm sure she will outgrow this willingness.
