So, I did it...

...I always say that I should "pick my battles with Megan". Tonight, I tried to fight a battle, but I was no match for Megan and her daddy.

Here is some background. Jarrad and I have been telling Megan that she needs her hair cut for the past month. When we first started telling her this, she would get upset and tell us that she loves her long hair, then she would fling it over her shoulder and give her signature pose (chin down, lips in her kissy face).

The change of heart came right after I got my hair cut a few weeks ago. Ever since then, Meg has been asking for a hair cut - she wanted "to have five inches cut off like mommy".
So, tonight - I did it. I cut my sweet baby girl's hair. Not thinking straight, I didn't get a good before picture :( but, I do have the above picture from the back. The picture was taken tonight, so it's right before the big event, but her hair was in a pony tail.
I have to say that I didn't want to cut it...but, as I mentioned before, I was no match for Meg and her daddy! I can't cut a straight line, so I knew this would be no different. But, I did it...I cut about 2.5 inches off. It's a little straggly, not a perfect straight cut...but, it was what she wanted.

...and it'll grow back. :) Don't worry, she's every bit as cute!

Visiting by way of POW, by the way.

it's hard to tell wet, but it looks good to me. Plus, it's still pretty long! When I finally got my haircut as a kid I went from having hair almost to my rear, to a boy cut. Yikes!

It looks pretty good to me - cutting kids hair is a lot harder than it looks!

I think it looks good!! It will grow back and she is still adorable!! My little girl is still bald, so my hair cutting worries are a bit down the road for me :-)

She looks so cute in that last picture- posing with her arms out like that! She must be loving her new 'do.

I never would've thought to cut my daughter's hair, but it sure would save me a bunch of money. I think I'll give it a try!

I think it looks adorable!!!

But, I have to say, that I think girls hair is so hard. Some days I swear I am cutting Anya's hair, and then the next I swear I am not.

I would not be a good one to try and decide anything about girls hair.

But I think you did a fabulous job!

I'm not gonna lie to you...I'm WAY jealous of girls' moms and the fact that they don't HAVE to cut their girls' hair!!!

You can grow it long, put it in pigtails, ponytails, etc.

With my boys, I don't have a choice. I HAVE to get it cut since we aren't particularly fond of long boys hair ala Kate Hudson's son. I feel like we are at the barber shop EVERY WEEK!

Meg's hair is SUPER cute!! And I so envy that she actually sits still for you to cut it!

Happy POW!

How cute and brave of you to cut it yourself... I tried cutting my daughter's hair and I might as well have just given her the scissors! btw, I have a cousin that just moved to Mansfield,
